The Blood Red Moon

audio link

The night was filled with the blood red moon
The dogs howled at the wind blowing in the palms
The unknowable pallor of vapors with voiceless roar
Passing over, and beyond, coming and going across the sky
Like gargantuan silent spirits of the ancient giants
Floating upon the black and gleaming -
Bottomless ocean of this flooding universe,
Casting the spell of sleep
Eclipsing all of the living
Who had toiled in the scenes of what had been
In the earlier day and evening
Lifting us like scraps of paper, leaves and dust
On to other places and times
Each like Noah in the arc of his or her own bed
Where the color of emotions become tangible
There the past buffets each living soul
With activities, thoughts and fantasies
Whipped up in the whirlwind of unresolved wishes
Torment and anguish locked up together
With the impossible possibilities of the untamed mind
Then breaking through the night, dancing on the horizon
Like a wild fire, came the phoenix - dawn
Bringing in her mouth a sweet sprig of music
The gentle voices of a mother and son nearby
Each word a kindness with the power of light and peace
A release from the net of slumber
Up now, up!
Tear a hole in the sky
Pass through to the sun of life and day
O thank the King of the vast and glorious heavens
Who in His great mercy turns the world
And rolls away the shades of darkness
Like so many curtains and shrouds
Like an old garment no longer worthy regard -
Is tossed aside to the rag heap
The glory of the Moon and her companions is stripped away
Commanding the creatures of moonlight – Sleep!

So that we might rise again.

Drink Up The Cup

Drink up the cup of Joy with all creation!
For you live and breathe -

This day was made for you
With a purpose to bless the soul
By one who knows

The very hairs of your head
Every sparrow that flies and falls.

With love you were made
With love you are cared for

Take courage and
May the overflowing
Of your heart's rapture

Touch everyone around you
For healing, life and peace.

Ants Ants Ants - with audio

audio link

Ants ants ants!
You take a little chance
Ants ants ants!
The ants get in your pants
Ants ants ants!
You dance right off to France

You wiggle and jiggle
And turn all around
You squiggle giggle
You jump up and down
You twist like a top
And fall to ground
When the ants get in your pants

Ants ants ants!
For fun and for romance
Ants ants ants!
Try a kiss in Paris France
Ants ants ants!
They put you in a trance,
No matter your plans
Now you’re marching like the ants

You make straight away
For The Champs-Elysées (Sha-zayly-zay’)
Smell all the flowers
You pass on the way
At the Eiffel tower
You yell out OO-Rey!
When the ants get in your pants

You wiggle and jiggle
And turn all around
You squiggle giggle
You jump up and down
You twist like a top
And fall to ground
When the ants ….

Say: “ I knew a fellow who went to Japans”
“What did he find there?”
On the ground, in the trees
On the water, in the plants?
Well as it turns out he found …

Ants ants ants!
Even in Japans
Ants ants ants!
You take a little chance
Ants ant ants!
The ants get in your pants
You do a little dance
And you end up back in France

Ants!

My Private Garden - with audio

Sea and moon rising on the tides
I traveled down the path swimming
Immersed in the changing image river
In the colors of the seasons and feelings
The sultry, the greens of emperors’ memory
The world of gazing stood silently
Wading onward,
Dividing and divining
The undulating babbling way
Sleepily reclining
Among the gently waving poppies
But time did not idle there
Clouds passed overhead
In shadows and then in light
With hills pasturing the grazing heart
At first cool and then yellow with warmth
There I sat and could not seize the task
So, my mind grew fat
For very strong was the current
And swift the refracted ever flowing waters
Mellow are the moments on the trip downstream
O’er every brooklet and sunlight flickering shoal
In the comfort and reflections
Of my private garden.
