Life and Love - with audio

audio link

Life and love are free
What we do with them
Will cost us our time
And many a person's help

Ripple - with audio

audio link

A planet cannot change orbit
Without affecting the solar system
Just as the expanding universe
Changes all matter, space and time
Even though the eye does not notice
Our thoughts and actions
Illusive in the flux of things
Create a ripple in the pool of reality
And thus change the world forever

A New Beginning - with audio

audio link

A new beginning,
When one is finished
Takes faith
Continuing on
Requires Hope
Allowing the flower
To stand again
After the storm
Producing lasting fruit
That falls from the tree
Of Love

What Whispers The Wind - with audio

What whispers the wind
To leaves that tremble
What says the rock
As waters fall

Beauty whispers the wind
Gushing, rushing, sparkling
Beauty, sounds the stone.

Passionate Intentions - with audio

audio link

A good thought is a fair and noble flight
But a good action is virtue
Emotions not expressed in day to day life
Are often expressed in dreams
Don't hold back your emotions and
You will sleep better at night

Passion is most well expressed
When love for another is given action
Self love, on the other hand
Is only a dim reflection of this
Like the Sun and the moon
Both are necessary

Tiny Credo - with audio

I am not smart
I am not fast
I am not best
At where I'm at

But I will trust
As well I must
In God Who watches
Over all of us.

To Love and Shine in The Eye of Life - with audio

audio link

That despair and fear across the land
Between me and thee I would certainly extinguish
But my roar is like a baby’s cry
And my power to save,
Like the lame man in front of the temple
That animation may God speak
Get up and walk my loved one,
Get up and walk
O carry the young and old in Thy bosom
Now and eternally
On the face of the earth
And in the eyes searching
There are tears stored up for a day
When many a heart shall say
Goodbye for now beloved of mine
While mouthing words both divine
And also guttural passions
Against and with the hand that fashions
The vineyard’s cluster of grapes
Under the embrace of the sun
As we drink the nectar of flowers
And sit tasting the honeycomb
Upon a blanket spread about with cornucopia
Even there one may stumble and not endure
A bridge that may not be passed over
The end of which finds the soul of man
That speck of sand
Upon the mighty torrent of something deep
In the silence and shades of specters
To rise again or not,
Once more to love and shine in the eye of life

The Poet's Voice Is Reborn - with audio

audio link

The verses do not speak
When the sun is dull and weak
Words have nothing to say
When the sky is cold and gray
The intellect flees again
Eyes overflow their dam
Swirling current in the belly
Heart pumping willi nilli
Calm rolls in after the storm
The poet's voice is reborn

How Love Begins - with audio

audio link

A girl and I went diving under the clear blue sky
On a pond, set round by fields, of barley, wheat and rye

She found there a family of ducklings, their little feet paddling
While tiny toads hopped across our path, brown, slow and dawdling

Gulls and hawks flew overhead and scurried away the lizards
Children’s voices in the hills nearby were like the chirping of songbirds

Beetles crept with each step under vineyards high above
The girl took my hand and smiled at me as we walked along in love

The blossoms of many a sage were orange, and white and purple
We held each other closely exchanging words and kisses special

Petals blue, yellow, and pink with the spicy scent of wild things
As we gazed into each other’s eyes reminded of how love begins.

Winter's End - with audio

audio link

Stars fall from frozen fingers reach
Pierced by beams of golden sunlight's keep

All souls who behold the sight
Wonder once again with great delight

At the Hand that shapes the seasons
So tide and life go through their cycles

As winter's gray head stops her struggle
To reflect the purest white o'er another

Shedding tears that yield the earth her need
Bringing joy and green and nourishment to each and every seed

Time - with audio

audio link

TIME

Every one heard the shot
They started off the block
The clock struck 12
They reached the end

No time anymore since it stopped

Wade, swim, float, sink and drown
In the sea of time and its many a storm
Were it not for the hand reaching down
From beyond that which can be fathomed
From beyond that which can be known
Yet the times of pain and pleasure
Beget joy and sorrows in good measure
No escape but death in the labor, fear or treasure

Sad, the journey traveled away from those we love
Paradoxically, it brings reunion with loved ones gone above
But sight is feeble and cannot see beyond
The toil and happiness of life and home
Time marches onward like some god soldier
Ushers life along, makes one wiser or bolder
To the frontline where work and day are finished
The structure once vacant is then demolished

Youth is not a capricious or thoughtless gift
It but helps the traveler be ready and equipped
For revelry and progeny and days of endless sun
Reflecting not upon the arduous task that they've begun
Blithely carrying the crushing weight of every year and hour
But time cannot put out the spirit’s brightly burning flower
Rather it is history that will be undone eventually
By something reflected in each soul called eternity

Herein this story we must now make an end
But conversely, let us tell everyone how it will begin
In this verse is a chronology, the reader to remind
It speaks of life’s predicament, dressed up in nursery rhyme
Of life and death and happiness, and work under the sun,
The rising unto heaven, so you'd better have some fun
For the great cosmos will one day have run out all time
Therein to announce a newly begun paradigm

This Spring Day Clear - with audio

audio link

Springtime is here
With wishes dear

Those of love
Those of lust
A treasure trove
to now entrust

Birds in the trees
Blossoms on the breeze

A tear in the eye
An ache in the heart
A deep drawn sigh
A spirit's fire to start

On the face is cool May air
A burst of sun in golden hair

In the hand
Of the Creator
Seas and sand
Poles to equator

Far and near, Far and near
So very near
This Spring day clear

The Being Lifted Up Doth Soar - with audio

audio link

Once again above the cotton
Rode the bronco till it calmed

Fears of wreckage now forgotten
Peace arrived here now entombed

Sun is there so brightly lining
All the horizon now can offer

Fueled by wind and fire climbing
The spirit released can no more suffer

Gliding with the winged birds
Shall the mouth dare to speak

Of that which lives beyond our words
Touching upon the highest peak

In azure and white, the hushed roar
Blazing journey through the heavens

Now the being lifted up doth soar
Grateful for all the Eternal One hath given

The Beast - with audio

audio link

The beast came out again
It came out of my hide where
He had been lurking just beneath the surface

He comes to destroy and consume
To obliterate all
All that would stand in his way

Where does he come from
What catapults him into the light of day
Up and out of the darkness

I think he feels entitled
Yes, entitled to a life of leisure
A life that does not exist

He cares not, nor empathizes a little
He is a fire that consumes
Even his own soul

I need Superman to come and defeat him
To cast him down into a deep cavern
And then cover the entrance with a giant boulder

Maybe NASA could send him to Mars
Or perhaps a Telsa particle beam
Could shrink him down to nothing

The only real way to defeat him
Is written of in the sacred scrolls'
In chapters concerning great love

Love is the power that can overcome all things
It's strength is displayed in acts of service and kindness
Illustrated in the pouring out of oneself for another

This is the only course of action to defeat the enemy
Love is surely the only way to kill the beast
And to put out the raging flames within.

Plano Vignette - with audio

audio link

Dallas is surreal, 20 miles to the northeast
I'm sitting in an airport 50s style restaurant
having breakfast and coffee

The TV is playing a string of commercials
For Coltons BBQ Ribs and alternately
Super king sized Chevy Suburbans
That are surrounded by cowboys

Well, they really know their market
As there seems to be a BBQ Steakhouse
on every street corner, with lots of
Chevy Suburbans in each parking lot

The news is reporting a problem
In Plano Texas on the freeway
It is 33 degrees Fahrenheit
And dark outside at 6:30 am

A couple of well dressed ladies with big hair
Are at the bar, in western winter long coats
And boots, looking like they just walked off
The combined sets of Dallas and North Dallas 40

One is standing drinking beer from a wine goblet
While the other sits on a stool nearby
Drinking another beer from a very large stein

I am ill prepared for the weather
I had no clue that it gets so cold in Dallas
The bar keep is a young man in his 20s
Slight of build with a long crew cut waxed down

He's got the look of a rancher already,
White buttoned down shirt, jeans and boots
Just like I probably have the look of an L.A. type
With my day old wrinkled suit and colorful Looney Tunes tie.

Winter Gives Up Her Secrets - with audio

audio link

Winter gives up her secrets
As the ice begins to melt
And the swollen rivers run

Clouds of mist
Appear upon the windows
Somewhere a door opens

Down on the ocean floor
There a wave is building
Fixed upon the tidal forces

Break open the earth
See the fires burning
Molten rock flowing

Snowy coat wearies the mountains
Smoke from volcanoes rising up
In that wintry moment

Breath deeply the cold fresh air
Quietly it speaks of past fallen leaves, and
Foretells of trumpeting spring

Let It Go - with audio

audio link

Sleep, sleep, sleep
Silent violent dreams
In quiet murmurings keep
Awaken from thy schemes
Coffee chase the vitamins
Sink in the aspirin
Churning stomach
Headache tumult
Throbbing emotions
Reverberate
Keys in hand
Out the gate
Driving down the 405
Hollow stare
From my eyes
Seeking in
The sinking hole
Deep within
My darkened soul
Music soaring
In my ear
Foggy thoughts
Coming clear
Cold dull cloudy day
Beethoven Pathetique
Finds the way
In the head
Angry thoughts
In the heart
Hard dark shouts

No wherefores,
and never why
Hide out in a box and die
Feel not sorry for yourself

Take the fight
Down off the shelf

No my friend
Not as you suppose
Turn away now

Let it go, let it go, let it go

Soften the stance
Go slow go slow
Slowly face the friends
That you know
They are not to blame
For the trouble
And the pain
In this life one
Needn't be alone -
In the chaotic
Reds, black and brown
There is support
For you and me
A gathering of community

Ask and breath
Task receive
Try and see

Let it go, let it go, let it go

When thoughtless deed
And rage are gone
As the strength surfaces
Take courage and move on

To live Again - with audio

audio link

The golden rolling, journeying ball

Rolls along, rolls along

Silently leaving

All behind, all behind

I wish to catch it, to hold it still

Somehow I know, I never will

Never will, hold it still

The leaves of the trees

Pile ever higher, ever higher

The winds blow the ball

That I cannot catch

Evermore, evermore beyond my reach

A thousand places, a thousand times

Falling farther, and further behind

Yet I cannot end my search

For ambition drives the climb

Seeking out a better perch, a better perch

Till mine eyes may see so well

To watch that ball roll over, over the hill

Stepping off the running treadmill

Knowing that the game once played

Has been played, been played so well

To escape that dreary cell

The place of fire, the place of hell

Then to live again as was meant

By the love of the Lily spent

To find the lamb, the lamb who went

To his heaven's gate, his heaven's high

There, to contemplate with affection

His tattered bride, his tattered bride

Gone Is Thy Flight - with audio

 audio link

O magnificent one
Set loose upon
The unseen ether
Above his voice is heard
Soaring ever higher
In the bluest sky
His glory is great
Beauty is his coat

But his fall is wretched
Lying broken
Among the feathers
Gone is thy flight
Where is the might
In the feebleness
Of some memory
Distorted and perverted

None is there
Who love him yet
Or who weep
Over his descent
Prince of heavens
Who rode horizons
To the four points
Mapping curling updrafts

None are left who
Know or care to see
The raptor's journey
Save the Eternal
Who created his climb
Taught him to fly
Lifted him up in
Excellence and freedom

He will not abandon
His beloved creatures
For His judgment
Is pure and perfect
Upon it rests the
Spheres, darkness and light
With the hope of all things
Until creation is made new.

Three Words - with audio

audio link

On the wings of fervent prayer
My love caught me unaware

Come away with me my love
Let me hold you in my arms

Holding hands walking side by side
Dreams and hopes in love are spoken

Shadows flee away from our love
We like doves are lifted by the dawn

Our love is like the Jasmine
Wild, fragrant, and flowering

The red pomegranate speaks of our love
With orange blossoms and nightingale's song

Sun and moon and the starry host above
Together with the Spring must boast of our love

When our eyes meet with kisses sweet,
And loving hearts are joined eternally

Three words with passionate longing pursue
I love you, I love you, I love you.

The Dove - with audio

audio link

Through many a veil and sandstorm
The scent of myriad desert flowers called out
Seeking passage in the whispering of the wind's
Hot breath blown upon the hills of a Holy Land

Dervishes turned and beggars  gathered around the square's
Source of water to the sounds of rattling old carts and
The crowds of the bazaar, the sun shown down commanding
Beauty to dance in the lines on the faces of an ancient people

There yellowed pages restlessly unfolded and Torah
Scrolls were opened in a place where Moses was not forgotten
The strains of King David's Psalms were expressed in voice,
Plucked out on the lyre, and then tished and tapped on the timbrel

A lone dove caught the rising scent of the desert blossoms
And carried it to the Psalms' expressive songs emanating from the people
There they mingled, aroma and prayer, in the ripples on the surface of a pool
That never ran dry, and the Dove's reflection traveled over the water

Once captured in the Sun's powerful rays, the Dove's descent
Was blindingly beautiful and a glorious vision,  gasps were heard,
And time seemed to stand still for the many pilgrims who had stopped
To refresh themselves with a dipper of the pool's life giving water.

From the moment of the Dove's first appearance, there arose from the pool
A mist each morning and evening,  that lifted with it the sweet savor and song,
It was a mixture of many a soul's longing,  praise and thanksgiving
Ascending into the presence of the Almighty One in the highest heavens above

The God of Salvation held out His Right Hand in mercy and compassion
The rising vapor upon touching the finger of Hashem (THE NAME), began at once to descend
Only now it was transformed, into a falling rainbow broken into sparkling droplets of dew
And within each one's brightness and colors was represented the promises of His Eternal Love

As millennia passed, life and commerce in the noisy market place, continued to flourish
And to this very day - there is yet a point of light reflected down from high above,
Dancing upon the pool in the old square where long ago the scents of  Etrog and Myrtle,
With Psalms of joy, music and prayer were wed together by a Dove in the morning light

The pure water remains radiant in the sun each day and in the moonlight at night
It is a healing balm and a source of life to the thirsty spirit of every weary sojourner
They, together with the hearts of all the many peoples of the old kingdom, await patiently for the Return of the Dove and the coming of the Bridegroom within the heart of Jerusalem, City of Gold.

You - with audio

audio link

When I am afraid
You see the child
A crying man
You hold me
In your arms
You give me
Your hand

You are my candle
In shadows dark
My companion
As I embark
Light on the way
You are my guide
On stormy sea
You are my peace
Among the turmoil
You never cease
You fill my
Lamp with oil

You are my
Health and shield
To your love
I gladly yield

Love Is Not Dependant - with audio

audio link

Love is not dependent
On being with another, what others think,
Vaunted sex, social status, or looks

It is not at once passionate
And then disillusioned, rather it endures
Love is not possessive, but patient and kind

Love leaves room for thought and understanding
Freedom, autonomy, reaching out and compassion
Love is more than just passing knowledge, it is active

Love is a happening from beyond our existence
Apart from our efforts, love lives, touching all
Forgiving, believing, overcoming, hoping

Love is the author of miracles, a courageous spirit
Love brings us pain, sadness, joy and gladness
It brings us together and cares for us when we're apart

Love makes a fountain of an empty heart
It makes sense of chaos, wisdom of foolishness
Loves is healing, building up, renewing, eternal.

When we open ourselves to love
All things good and right are possible
Love watches over and serves all things great and small

Love creates and holds the multiverse together
Light, darkness, creation, and brings us little children
To seek love, help others, find peace, happiness and life.

Holidays Far and Away - with audio

audio link

The glowing red embers were dying away
As the young girl drove off after evening prayers,
With chestnuts, hot tea and short bread cookies
Roasting in the still, bright fires of her mind

The host was gone to bed after offering
The young traveler the dainties of a cozy guest chamber
Her goodnight flew down the stairs
Like a stocking filled with candy

Her thoughts were aflame, filled with snaps of
Images and the ribbon of feelings from her past
Tidings of family, friends and all the persons
Whom she had known and loved over the years

The old clock like one whose mind could not be made up,
Pointed decisively first this way, then again that way
With it's long brass arm and disk, until the rhythmic
Telling became the subtle heartbeat of silent thoughts

The old folks, Nellie and Lynus, lay in slumber
Visioning a more peaceful time and day, like a silent film
Of flowers and the waving of wheat, within which
One might view the embodied freedom of their souls

Kindred distanced from us by time and space
Swirled into dreams with a kaleidoscope of happy memories
The angels marveled at how softly each breath was taken
The fluttering of eyelashes, soft chuckles and rosy complexions

The Eternal One was working miracles this night
Across town, the young miss arrived home,
Took off her shoes and was quickly into her sleeping gown
Then hopping into bed she bade the house pets to join her

After reading a few verses of Edna St. Vincent Millay
To all the curious eyes and pointed ears on the bed
A  ponderous sigh expressed itself on her countenance
While escaping from deep within her gentle frame

Life, she thought, how wonderful and mysterious
As the enchantment of midnight overcame the day's excitement
The girl could no longer feel the room's cold air about her
Only her little friends and the stars above were aware of her quiet smile

The green leather sofa murmured from beneath his form
As the bell in the old clock called the young traveler's name
Sleepy burning coals hissed, sputtered and tap-danced a kindly lullaby
Faintly hinting of the hearth's earlier fire outlined by the room's darkness

Thus, Christmas eve, passed into one with Christmas day
The angels in Heaven rejoiced while the hilltops
Changed from the shadows of night to the pinks of dawn
And merry became the sun's rising as the birds sang with our spirits

So shall peace remain in our hearts and thoughts beyond the fullness of time
We rejoice and give thanks, because the Almighty one has seen to all this,
Awakened his creation once more this day, wrought wondrous things,
And even now continues to bind all things together in the Messiah's love.

Untitled - with audio

audio link

I carry with me always
Something lighter than a feather
Greater than the mighty Oceans
Brighter and faster than light
Older than the universe itself
It grows from the tiniest of seeds
A perfection that cannot be bought
All this and more is given
More than my share
Was given to me in love
The one who gave it was killed
In the process of purchasing it
Yet he still lives with more of it to give
So it is that I Joyfully give it to you
For my supply is endless
There is plenty for you
Your family and friends
Why, the whole world over
Could not exhaust the supply
However, I must tell you
It is not me who does the giving
It is my Father and another
of his sons, a prince most favored
Whose name means
The Almighty salvation,
Wisdom, and eternal healing
Is here among and with us
If you believe in these
And your lips have spoken of it
Then you already have
The gift that is being offered.

Plateau of Peace - with audio

audio link

Sunset balances red upon the hills
Stealthy quiet has reached it's plateau
Somewhere, a train moans out a warning
Long loving thoughts of home return

Fleeting mauves, silence once more
Peace seems to have settled
In shadowy cedars feathery branches
Crescent moon holds up a
Violet canopy of flickering stars

Gaudy streetlight, cars hum by
Confusion among the fauna
Sidewalk whispers telling stories
Revealing wooden heels, and
Voices off in the distance
A child's crying is soothed

Waxen green tendrils warmed
By the buttercup yellow
Of a small window lamp
Upstaged for moment
By the crackling snap and sweep
Of dry Summer leaves caught
With twigs beneath my steps

Strange, the fascination
Of all things encountered
Captivating the imagination
As we behold life
In the reverie of our existence
Gentle, the swaying of spirit
Calm, are the many waters
Still is the soul at peace.

Silent Slumber - with audio

Sweetly Silent
Is my slumber

With God above
In heavens' chamber

Raging Storm
Outside is heard

Stirring up
Dusty dessert

Hot air mixes
With oceans breath

A dog's bark breaks
The howling night

It is morning
And black as pitch

Tomorrow brings
A day of saints

Violently submits
Sleep to capture

Await dawn's face
Love's light enrapture

Pensive, restless, rippling beauty

Fragrant Incense - with audio

audio link

Tired shadows fled away
From the flowering pink Dawn
Dust spores collided and collected
Landing with a deafening silence
On the Venetian blinds and bookshelves
Sunlight broke in through the window pane
To offer a warm coat and a cheery smile
The room glowed as if suddenly alive
Awash in yellow and refracted colors of the rainbow
My soul felt like hot maple syrup
As I read God's words eternal
Outside the wind mocked and howled
Inside a spirit gave thanks and sang praises
Rising slowly upward like a fragrant incense

Looking for a bit of cherry,
Perhaps some bread-crust,
Special sun-arrayed foil,
Or a peanut shell
For tender morsels
Sumptuous delicacies,

You always come
In evening dress,
Black Coat and tails
Day or Night
Such stately manner
How very proper
You are sir

Social Media - with audio

audio link

I cannot dwell in the perfectly clear
Rather, more like the generally near
Of faded colors and blurry lines
Reverberations of my mind

Though my eyes be weak
And my hand be lame
A kind word yet bespeak
Drop a coin just the same

My cup is empty of glory
You have all the pencils
So tell me a story
A crumb from your stencil

Please throw me a pun
Out the window of your high tower
Shoot the bullets from your gun
I have need of your super power

Please forget the superficial love
In the haunts of electrostatic-pedia
For virtual is the blood
And so cold the ethereal flood

Of magnetic social media

When all there is to know is known

The mighty heavens shall abound
Messiah is come in Glory!

Rolled Forth in Peace - with audio

audio link

The notes
Of the rock-band
Were frayed
And clashed
Until they shook
My whole being
In seeming
Reminiscence
Of the earthquake
Earlier that day
But all the while
My heart
Like many waters
Of the oceans
Rolled forth
In peace

Potatoes and eggs (big breath in)
Sniffin in a whiff
Breathin in the goodness
Set about my business
Havin more than I shoulda
With my brother as my witness
Sour cream and muffin
One banana, orange juice
Down I am stuffing
Mmmmmm, mmmmm!
Yummy, yummy!
I just wanna say
Thank you mummy!

Wrecking Ball - with audio

audio link

I've hurt someone
Now like a wrecking ball inside me
Again and again each memory
Of the people that I've hurt
Slams and hollows this one out
Like an old abandoned building

What a conceited ass
I have become
My hands reach out
All they find is rubble
My nostrils fill with smoke and dust
Ashes and sulfur are my accusers

Tears lay choking and thrashing
Somewhere deep within
Damn the cold stillness
In the granite quarry
Of a pride cramped belly

A balloon filled with putrid air
A glove with no hand to take it
A cloud without rain

As my silence groans
In the growing darkness

Of empty words and
Broken promises
Trampled love and
Shattered relationships
Echos, of what was
And what might have been.

Pretty Kitty Kit Cat - with audio

Pretty kitty kit cat
He’s so little and fat
He’s a pretty kit, kitty kit, kitty kit
Pretty kit kitty Cat

Pretty Kitty Kit cat
Orange and round just like that
Friendly purring on my lap
He’s a pretty kit cat

Pretty Kitty kit cat
At the window mewing this way and that
Eats his food then takes a nap
Pretty kitty kit cat

Pretty Kitty kit cat
Long fur upon his back
His tail it swishes and swishes it swishes
He’s a pretty kit cat

See him crouching in the yard looking pouty
Spying out a lizard or a mousy for his mouthy
He’s eating grass, then goes stalking on a sortie
Finding feral felines for a furry garden brawling party

Pretty kitty kit cat
Chasing string and swatting a gnat
Pouncing on a cricket, stopping to chat
Pretty kitty kit cat

Pretty kitty kit cat
Stretching in the sun laying flat
Scratch his neck with head cocked back
Tell him he's a pretty kit cat,

for
He’s a pretty kit, kitty kit, kitty kit,
kitty kit, kitty kit, kitty kit, kitty kit,
Pretty kit, kitty kit, pretty kit, kitty kit
Pretty kit, kit-ty cat!

Joy - with audio

Joy is a bunny hopping about
Inside one's breast

Joy is bubbles of laughter
Waiting to escape a smile

Joy is light turned into breath
Shining out with each sigh

Joy is a brightness unhidden
An uncontainable energy

Joy reaches beyond the stars
Unfathomed, is it's power

The Pine Tree and The Lamp Post - with audio

audio link

Tonight I chanced upon a pine tree
Chatting with a lamppost dressed in black
I'm trimmed straight and lean
The lamp post said
I'm somewhat in between
Said the pine tree, and
With that they swayed and chuckled gustily

Encrypted Words - with audio

audio link

Encrypted words
Flew like Humming birds
In the heart of the Louvre,
Aujourd'hui et toujours mon ami (Today and Always my friend)
Ideas like melodies
Kisses spent in kind
Make admiring minds
Want to see
Flower and buzzing bee
La vision de l'art
Vie, amour, printemps a nouveau... ,
(The vision of art
Life, love, spring anew ...,)
NOTE
There are riddles here, hence the name
 - the main one being
to figure out the end of the poem.
Give it a try. It is not that hard - really.

All right already, the clue for the ending is in
the last two (whoops) three lines of the poem.
Other riddles involve a play on the word Louvre,
and in looking at the history of the word and how
it has been used. In old French and English
it is similar to or the same as the word for lover
and a kind of window - hence this is a play on words
and we are looking into the soul or heart of a lover here,
who is also in one of the most romantic places
in the world i.e, the Louvre. The rest is, well
the nature of art springtime and love. Thanks for reading.

Q: - what's missing from the poem?

A:- "e tu" - (and you) is the final phrase of the poem,
found in the last letter of the last 3 lines.
So then, - YOU - mon ami, are the missing ingredient!

A Book - with audio

 audio link

A book is to be read
With some tea
And some bread

Hid like a crook,
In a nook,
In a bed

With a fire nearby
A tear in your eye
Like a granny

Of wise quiet mind
Then comes slumber
Gentle and kind

Riding the Wave of Time - with audio

audio link

I sighed and
He said goodbye
Riding the wave of time

Not long forgotten
He rose again in my mind
Riding the wave of time

Having once died
But now lives again
Riding the wave of time

Somewhere in my soul
Connected to this spirit
Riding the wave of time

Collision, conclusion
Lachrymose the eyes
Riding the wave of time

Laughter heaves the breath
Sentimental collusion
Riding the wave of time

Ah, what mysterious reverie
Is that singularity memory
Riding the wave of time

Another year older
Some days longer
Riding the wave of time

So I wonder
Then ponder
What is yonder
Riding the wave of time

And he is
But is not
Riding the wave of time

In spacious hearts
And outside all
In Him
Gone is the wave of time

Yet flourishing
Brilliant
And Loving
We remain
Beyond the wave of time.

SLIM AND JIM - with audio

Slim was slimmer than Jim
This matter made Jim quite a crier
He denied the fact
That he was twice as fat
Making Jim the fatter latter liar

Shalom Bayit - (Peace of the Home) with audio

Audio Link

Shabbat Shalom, they said as each came to the door
First came the early birds, and then more chaverim, (friends), trickled in,
Followed by pilgrims bearing gifts of wine
Their faces lifted up our home bringing blessings upon us
The air began to cool down from the 95 degree temperature
As they each began to help prepare for the evening
It was still light, late afternoon and summer

A long set of tables had been placed with chairs set all around
Some guests helped put down the table cloths and I left off to change clothes
Soon it was time to begin and reaching for some red wine
I returned to the tables now beautifully adorned and filled with happy young faces
A calm easy evening breeze blew and the transformation was complete
The air was now afresh with the scent of the nearby jasmine and roses
Twightlight arrived, sending the temperature plummeting to a relaxing 75 degrees

The crickets danced, hummingbirds hovered above the red bougainvilleas
Little birds chirped and the morning doves coo'd
Many of our guests laughed in conversation, some sat quietly, eyes shining brightly
To my right by the fragrant jasmine sat my princes smiling and joking
The strength of my youth, our older and younger son
With their mother coming, going and joining us once again
All the frustration and stresses of the week fled away
The sweetness of the gathering fell upon all like a tefillah and tehillah,
(prayer and song of praise)

The gentle flowing air whispered in the ear
And played the little group of souls like Mendelsohn's nocturn
Alluding to what must have been for him a longing
For something wonderful realized here in this night
In each beating breast, and eyes full of the wonder of life
Songs, B'ruchas, (Blessings), wine, challah and festive feasting
Yai yai yai, yah yah yah, lai lai lai, Maschiach, Maschiach, Maschiach
And HEY! We sang, led by the young teacher, who was inspired by the flower

Parshat Naso, 176 verses to touch the senses more than any other,
Coinciding with the longest day of the year,
Dividing sacred and the profane, the lunar cycle,
Day and night, the Jewish Calendar year of 353 days
First three, then five, followed by seven
A census of Shalom Bayit,  Shabbat shalom and
The number of our guests,
Recounting Aaron's blessing
Hashem Bless you,
Hashem lift up his face
Hashem Shine upon and grant you Shalom

The moon pregnant with desire, but at first shy,
Peered down at the scene from behind the palm branches
Then moving leisurely crossing over stars in the night
Her delight burst forth upon us reflecting a greater glory
O, Tidal beauty fret not, even though you are a world away,
Tonight you are here with us, joining in our celebration
Our spirits welling up in joy as waves within us
Welcoming the bride, hearts overflowing as one
With the hope of all creation among the host
That the creator might dwell with us,
Among us, to make all things new

So it was this night, in the faces of our children,
And their friends, mixed up in the laughter
Kabbalat daughters and sons at rest with us
Here in this brief yet eternal season of time
The Shabbat refreshes and awakens to life
Makes us hope in the coming of the Messiah
To pray for the peace of Jerusalem city of gold
As Hashem makes his face to shine within us

So we ate, drank and chatted passionately into the night
Playing cards, drinking tea, and eating birthday cake
Until it was two in the morning and the stars tearing up,
Pleaded with us: go to bed,  so we said, lilah tov, goodnight,
Shalom Aleichem, Shabbat Shalom, until our guests had departed

Then each one of our little family retired to the inner recesses of our home
Where we sank down upon the pillows and blankets
Falling into unconcerned sleep, safe, contented and at peace
Resting at the foot of Jacobs ladder
With angels in attendance.
